Brazilian government eases covid-19 restrictions

On Monday (09/12) Brazilian government eased covid-19 restrictions allowing travelers to either choose to present a proof of vaccination or a negative test to enter the country.

The measure signed by the Ministers of Civil House, Justice, Health and Infrastructure follows the recommendation of the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) and was published on the official interministerial ordinance 678/22 on Monday evening.

With the new rules, travelers can now choose between the following actions:

– Provide proof of vaccination in printed or electronic form.

– Present proof of negative Covid-19 test, such as an antigen test or RT-PCR test laboratory performed at most one day before departure from the first embarkation point.

The new rules are already in force and must be observed by travelers and transport operators. According to Anvisa, the measure simplifies the existing controls, allowing every traveler to meet all the necessary requirements.
